Grizzlies
Appropriate Athlete Development: Active for Life
Roster Group: Non-Competitive
Average Age: 12–19
Season Format: Three sessions per season
The Grizzlies group is designed for athletes who want to stay active in the sport of swimming without the demands of competition. Whether swimmers are former competitors or simply enjoy training and improving their fitness, this roster offers a structured, skill-based environment to support long-term participation in the sport.
Grizzlies maintain a high level of technical proficiency and physical conditioning, capable of meeting the performance and training expectations found in the club’s competitive groups (Panda Bears through Silvertips). Athletes in this group focus on aerobic fitness, stroke development, and refining technique across all four strokes, with optional opportunities to participate in time trials or club-based activities—without the pressure of formal racing.
This program is ideal for:
-
Those who swim for fitness, personal challenge, or community connection
-
Working towards meeting bench markers, such as the Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and/or National Lifeguard swim test standards.
-
Swimmers who have aged out or stepped back from competitive training.
-
Athletes who want to stay connected to swimming while focusing on academics or other sports.
Grizzlies supports a lifelong love of swimming by promoting personal growth, team spirit, and a healthy, active lifestyle—making it the perfect fit for teens who want to continue enjoying the water on their own terms.
